When Crvena zvezda trailed by 10 points in the fourth quarter, it seemed that all hope was lost for the Belgrade team in Bologna. But then, Isaiah Canaan took matters into his own hands.

The U.S. guard caught fire, turned the tables, and led his team to a comeback victory over Virtus Bologna.

I kept telling them, ‘Four quarters, long game, seven minutes, long game.’ Just keep believing, and everybody gave their best effort in that fourth quarter. That’s how we pulled out the victory,” Canaan said after the match, which helped Crvena zvezda improve to 7-7 in EuroLeague standings.

The experienced guard has had ups and downs this season, but against Virtus, he delivered his best performance in a Crvena zvezda jersey.

It’s just hard to contain me every game. If I get loose, it’s trouble. But a lot of teams have been doing—or trying to do—a good job of just keeping me out of the game. That comes with the territory. I know what I can do, and I look forward to facing tough defenses every night.

Canaan is eager for more victories.

I try to give everything I’ve got every game—whether it’s offense or defense, I give it my all because I want to win. My teammates trust me, the coaches trust me. I just try to do everything I can, whether it’s making shots, getting stops, or grabbing rebounds. It doesn’t matter to me. I just want to win,” he concluded.
