Anthony Randolph announced on social media that he is retiring from basketball at the age of 35.
The former Real Madrid player had plenty of success during his career, winning two EuroLeague titles with the Spanish giant and a 2017 EuroBasket gold as a naturalized player for the Slovenian national team.
“After 15 incredible years, I’m officially stepping away from basketball.
Thank you to the fans who made every game special and believed in us through it all.
Basketball has given me more than I could have ever dreamed, shaping me both as a player and as a person. While this chapter comes to a close, I’m excited for what lies ahead and the new opportunities to continue growing and giving back,” Randolph wrote on social media.
As the 14th overall NBA draft pick, he started his career with the Golden State Warriors, then played for the New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Denver Nuggets, before transitioning to Europe with Lokomotiv Kuban in 2014. Two years later, he joined Real Madrid, where he spent the rest of his career, winning three ACB League titles, two Copa del Reys, five Spanish Supercups, along with EuroLeague championships in 2018 and 2023.
