Sarunas Jasikevicius’ Fenerbahce suffered a heavy loss for a second consecutive EuroLeague game

Fenerbahce Beko coach Sarunas Jasikevicius wants to see his team recovering quickly from the blowout loss to Barcelona on the road by exhibiting a mentality similar to the one of NBA teams.

“We are in a moment of so many games that you have to have an NBA mentality, think about the next game,” Saras said. Fenerbahce is now playing against Paris Basketball in France Thursday (19/12). “Forget about today and in the next game you play the same as today, just one point. We have to compete more and we have to talk about this. If Satoransky and Nuñez put pressure on you, you can do the same and I don’t know why we don’t do it.”

Barca lost 90 – 63, suffering a rout for a second straight EuroLeague game following their 69 – 99 home defeat to AS Monaco last week. The Turkish powerhouse performed poorly, shooting 7 out 30 triples and commiting 17 turnovers for 10 assists.

Only Bonzie Colson scored in double figures from Fener with 15 points.

“From the first moment they were faster than us, their pressure hurt us,” Jasikevicius commented. “We knew they were going to come out very motivated but we couldn’t hold on. We failed in everything. The last quarter was unacceptable. It’s a problem we have this year, that when things don’t go well, we fall down too much. We shouldn’t lose like that.”

“We have arrived in the same situation that we arrived against Baskonia a few weeks ago,” Saras added, a mention to their defeat at Baskonia in Round 13. “Baskonia was in trouble, with a bad streak and you try to tell your players that they are going to come out to bite and that the first quarter is very important. Unfortunately, we failed in everything. If we had been tied in the last quarter, Barça would have been nervous at the Palau, because that is what they have done in the last few games.”
