Mathias Lessort suffered a fibula fracture, will need surgery and he is expected to stay out of action for the next four months as Panathinaikos confirmed.
Panathinaikos was leading 56-35 at the start of the second half, OAKA was rocking and suddenly everyone froze.
Lessort twisted his ankle and stayed on the floor, screening in pain. Teammates, opponents, and the crowd suddenly were silent.
The Panathinaikos center stepped on Chima Moneke with his right foot but fell with all his weight on his left and twisted it.

A little later, he got up with the help of his teammates and left for the locker room. After a few minutes, he was transferred to a local hospital.
Lessort will be operated in the next few hours, pretty much the whole team has already visited him in the hospital and he sent the following message via Twitter.
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger! Thanks for all the messages and prayers love you all ! I’ll be back stronger then ever 🙏🏿

Lessort is one of the key players of the defending champions and a member of last season’s All-EuroLeague team. His absence is bound to create issues in the paint for Panathinaikos, especially because of Lessort’s defensive presence.
