Milos Teodosic was still missing, but Joel Bolomboy was back in form, scoring 17 points and leading Zvezda to the win.
To be exact, Crvena Zvezda prevailed over Maccabi 81-73 getting 15 points from Yago Dos Santos who also dished seven assists.
Thanks to this result, Zvezda got again to a positive record (9-8), while Maccabi dropped to 4-13 and it’s tied second to last with Virtus Bologna.
“Most importantly we won, that’s what really matters, and bouncing back from the last loss against Efes”, said Bolomboy who is just finding his rhythm after his recent injury.
“I missed it a lot, it was a long two months, I avoided surgery, back rehab is rehab”, Bolomboy admitted.
Roman Sorkin with 21 points was the top scorer of the guests, who have lost a lot of ground already in the fight for the postseason.
Zvezda all the way
The Serbs opened up the game leading 21-15 and that proved pretty much the best that Maccabi could do.
With a partial score of 27-18, Zvezda had a huge 48-33 advantage.
In the third period, Maccabi demonstrated their pride and the hosts relaxed a bit, as the Israelis trimmed the lead to one point (55-54) with Zvezda scoring just 12 points in the quarter and closing it up by six (60-54).
However, Maccabi couldn’t get that close again, Zvezda extended their lead to 12 (72-60) and the game was over.
