Milan managed to turn its season around in the EuroLeague in the last few weeks, even without a force under the rim like Josh Nebo, who concluded last year’s European campaign with Maccabi Tel Aviv as one of the best centers in the competition.
The Round 17 matchup against Bayern at home was the occasion for the 27-year-old Slovenian naturalized center to return to the court, and that’s exactly what happened.
However, his playing time against Gordon Herbert’s team didn’t last up until the final buzzer, forced to leave the action after 16:33 minutes on the court in which he went close to a double-double at 11 points and 8 rebounds, shooting 5/9 from the field.
As Johannes Voigtmann drove to the basket to deliver a right-hand poster dunk, the former Maccabi Tel Aviv‘s center tried to contest the shot but landed roughly on the court, holding his arm.
The nature of the injury isn’t known yet, as Ettore Messina explained in the post-game press conference. “The worst part is that Nebo got hurt again, and we will know more in the next few days. It doesn’t look good”, Milan’s head coach said.
This is the third injury he has experienced since joining the Italian red-and-white side. Thus far, he played only in four games in the EuroLeague: Round 1 vs Monaco, Round 6 vs Baskonia, Round 7 vs Virtus Bologna, and ultimately Round 17 vs Bayern Munich.
