Fenerbahce Beko announced the departure of Boban Marjanovic on Monday.

Marjanovic, 36, used an exit option on his contract to become a free agent, as noted by the Istanbul outfit.

The noise connected with his arrival in September did not extend to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi. The experienced Serbian center was limited to six appearances in Europe’s premier club continental competition, tallying 4.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 0.7 assists, and 0.2 steals per contest. Being featured in ten BSL games amounted to 10.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.

Removed from the official EuroLeague roster of Fener before Round 18 of the Regular Season allows him to be eligible to play with any other club of the league in the second half of the 34-game schedule. However, it remains unclear whether he will pursue such options as a free agent.

Over the previous nine years, Marjanovic displayed his talents in the NBA and connected as a fan favorite across several teams. Between spells with the Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers, San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, and Detroit Pistons, he logged 362 appearances.

Before moving to the league based in North America, he played 48 EuroLeague games with Crvena Zvezda Telekom, Zalgiris, and CSKA.

As a member of the senior national team of Serbia, he won a silver medal in the 2017 EuroBasket. Further experience includes the 2019 FIBA World Cup and the 2011 EuroBasket.
