Virtus Bologna still has a mountain to climb, having a 5-13 record. Still, they got the job done admirably against LDLC ASVEL which was on the rise, but lost 83-69 in Italy.
Achille Polonara with 17 points and Will Clyburn with 13 led the charge for the winning side, which is still missing captain Toko Shengelia.

ASVEL didn’t have any answers in this game dropping to 8-10 in a tie with Partizan and Baskonia, which are not such a bad company, but they all share the 13th spot of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague standings.
Theo Maledon scored 20 points for the losing side in one more good personal performance which didn’t affect this time the outcome of the game.
Virtus in control from the start
Virtus got hot early, finishing the first period with a 10-2 partial score for a 19-7 lead with ASVEL shooting just 25% from the floor (3/12).
Matt Morgan made the score 20-7 to start the second period as the guests still couldn’t buy a bucket and Virtus jumped to a 25-7 lead after a second three by Morgan.
ASVEL had a mountain to climb and despite their effort, Virtus closed the first half leading 46-29, while the French side had 2/10 threes.
At the start of the second half, ASVEL dropped to 2/15 from deep, Virtus pushed the lead to 23 points (54-31) and the game was prematurely over.
