Kostas Sloukas on Mathias Lessort: “All our games will be for him”

Following his horrible injury suffered against Baskonia at home, Mathias Lessort will now be out for at least four months, hopefully coming back when Panathinaikos possibly enters the EuroLeague Playoffs.

Against Bayern Munich, Wenyen Gabriel showed a good effort – as he was praised by his teammates and head coach – in giving the Greek powerhouse some mobility under the rim replacing the French center, but both Kostas Sloukas and Kendrick Nunn wanted to share a moment for him.

“I want to dedicate this win to Mathias [Lessort]. All the games will be for him. We miss him”, the team’s captain first stated in the post-game flash interview in Germany.

Only a few moments before, the American guard also took some time to send his closeness to Panathinaikos’ No.26. “Missing our big is an extra motivation for the Green: every night, we’re playing for Mathias [Lessort] until the end of the season for sure”, Kendrick Nunn also commented.

Before severely injuring himself, the 1995-born center was averaging 13.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game for Panathinaikos, making a significant difference for the reigning champions.
