ASVEL’s Theo Maledon honored as EuroLeague MVP for December

EuroLeague has honored Theo Maledon of LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne as the MVP for December, making him the club’s first-ever MVP of the month in the top continental competition.

The French guard averaged an impressive 21.2 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.3 rebounds for a PIR of 26.8 during the final month of 2024.

Maledon’s outstanding performance over the past month has captured the attention of fans, coaches, and analysts alike, establishing him as one of the league’s brightest rising stars.

In December, Maledon delivered a series of dominant performances, leading his team to crucial victories with an impressive mix of scoring, playmaking, and leadership on both ends of the floor. His ability to impact the game consistently, particularly in high-pressure moments, has made him an indispensable asset for ASVEL,” per EuroLeague.

The 23-year-old guard becomes the fourth French player to earn this honor, following his ASVEL teammate Nando De Colo (January 2015, February 2016, January 2018 — all with CSKA Moscow), Thomas Heurtel (February 2017 with Anadolu Efes Istanbul), and Guerschon Yabusele (January 2022 with Real Madrid).
