After his lowest-scoring game in the season so far in the home loss to Olympiacos Piraeus, Zach LeDay bounced back for him and Olimpia Milano in a quite strong fashion.
LeDay scored 17 points, including two straight 3-pointers in the last minutes that put Milano up 10 with 1:29 remaining and all but secured the away win over ASVEL Villeurbanne.
As he said in the post-game presser, when he felt there was a roadblock… he just ran through it.
“There’s some point in time when people talk about hitting a wall but… sh–t. You just got to run through the motherfu—er,” LeDay said in the post-game flash interview. “Just do what you got to do. I wanted to be there for my team. Really lock in and focus on the little things today.”
LeDay also had six rebounds as Milano improved to 10-9.

“I made a big mistake in the last game. I didn’t just kill what it was in front of me,” LeDay also said, apparently a mention of the number of five shots he took against Olympiacos and being less aggressive than usual. “I wanted to show I learned a lesson. I’m grateful for the game, grateful for the opportunity to keep playing. Just keep running, keep going.”
“We are progressing”
Coach Ettore Messina practically agreed with his player, using more tame language: “It’s a very important win because we have lost two close games with Bayern and Olympiacos. To win here, in a moment where they are a very efficient team, with a lot of guards that can create… We played as a team and I am very, very happy and we will try to build on this”.
For the Italian mastermind, the key word is progress: “We are progressing, and some times you take some steps back. You can not kill yourself if you lose to Olympiacos or a great team like Bayern. It’s the EuroLeague. Some times you win, some times you lose, the point is to be consistent as much as possible. I think we are much better than in October and hopefully in the next months we will continue to be better”.
