Real Madrid is turning over their difficult campaign in the EuroLeague, as they scored the fourth consecutive win in tonight’s matchup with Bayern Munich.
In the post-game flash interviews, Chus Mateo was asked how important it is to keep the concentration high for his players. “We never stop, we have 90 games in a year. We’re gonna play four games next week: one on Monday, one on Wednesday, one on Friday, and one on Sunday”, he said.
“There are no sports that can do this. We need to keep the concentration, to keep people fresh and alive. That’s important to keep the team together”, Chus Mateo followed.
Moving on to tonight’s game, he praised his team’s defensive effort. “We did a good job, it wasn’t easy to allow our opponents only 76 points. They’re very good players, they have a good team that plays very well, especially on offense”, he said.
“We know it was very difficult to stop all of their players who are in a good moment and in a good shape. We got the fourth in a row, and it’s important for our team that we have one more victory rather than defeats. We’ve got to keep up the victories, do the same job on defense”, Real Madrid‘s coach added.
Gordon Herbert touched on his team’s weak first twenty minutes. “I didn’t like our fight and intensity in the first half. You can miss shots, but we just gave up too many layups in this game”, he said.
In the post-game press conference, he looked at the full half of the glass. “In the second half, we came out hard, fought, and won battles. That was the positive”, Bayern Munich’s coach followed.
