With Mathias Lessort forced to miss action for the upcoming months and with Wenyen Gabriel joining the squad to fill the gap in the center rotation, Omer Yurtseven had to step up for Panathinaikos.
After collecting 19 points over the previous six encounters, he emerged as one of the Greek powerhouse heroes in the huge 111-90 win at home in OAKA against Virtus Bologna, keeping the streak alive.
The Turkish center had himself a career-high night, posting 27 points over 13/16 from two-point range while also grabbing 7 rebounds in Ergin Ataman’s team’s victory. This 34-PIR performance made him the MVP of Round 19, as he recorded the highest PIR in the whole competition.
Since joining Panathinaikos back from the NBA, Omer Yurtseven has been averaging 7.3 points and 3.2 rebounds in only 11:42 minutes of playing time. As proven against Virtus, his opportunities will arise.
Have yourself a night @omeryurtseven77 🥵
