Diamantidis voted best player in EuroLeague history by fans

Greek and Panathinaikos legend Dimitris Diamantidis was voted the best player in EuroLeague history by the fans.

He topped the public vote, with the process closing today (8/1), ahead of the second phase of selecting the EuroLeague All-25 team.

The former Greek player earned 3.20% of the public votes, which will count towards 10% of the selection process for the best 25 players. The remaining 90% will be determined as follows:

– 40% will be decided by the votes of the tournament’s MVPs and members of the top teams from the 2000–2010 and 2010–2020 decades.
– Another 40% will be determined by coaches who have won the tournament.
– Finally, 10% will come from votes cast by journalists.

Sarunas Jasikevicius finished second, narrowly surpassing Vassilis Spanoulis, with both securing around 3.01%. Current EuroLeague president Dejan Bodiroga (2.80%) and Theodoros Papaloukas (2.76%) complete the Top 5.

Following them are:

6th: Kostas Sloukas (2.72%)
7th: Juan Carlos Navarro (2.69%)
8th: Mike Batiste (2.67%)
9th: Georgios Printezis (2.63%)
10th: Kyle Hines (2.59%)
