Sasha Vezenkov continues to be unstoppable and push Olympiacos in the 2024-25 EuroLeague Regular Season. Displaying an elite performance that contributed to the Greek team’s 112-69 home win over Bayern Munich, he was once again named MVP of the Round.
Putting up an almost perfect shooting night, as he concluded with a masterpiece of 10/10 from two-point range and 8/10 from downtown, he registered the third-best scoring performance in EuroLeague history with 45 points. He shot only one free-throw, at 2:19 left.
This is the third-best scoring performance in the history of the EuroLeague, as Sasha Vezenkov only trails Anadolu Efes‘ Shane Larkin (49 points against Bayern Munich) and Fenerbahce‘s Nigel Hayes-Davis (50 points against ALBA Berlin).
Adding 7 rebounds and 2 assists, with just one single turnover, made him finish the historic night with 52 PIR – the sixth-best performance in such regard behind Tanoka Beard (63 PIR), Dejan Milojevic, and Jaka Lakovic (tied at 55 PIR), Marko Popovic (54 PIR), and Shane Larkin (53 PIR).
Prior to the huge win over Gordon Herbert’s team, the Bulgarian forward was joint with Theo Maledon per most EuroLeague MVP of the Rounds at 3. Now, he stands on top of this list after gaining the award already in Rounds 2, 3, and 16. Overall, he has 13 EuroLeague MVP of the Rounds, third all-time behind Nando De Colo (16) and Shane Larkin (17).
