There were reports linking Real Madrid to Devonte Graham, but the latest ones suggest that another former NBA player could instead join the Spanish giants.
According to AS, the main candidate for the guard position at Real Madrid at the moment is Dennis Smith Jr.
He was already linked with Real Madrid a couple of weeks ago, but the operation was halted at the last minute. However, AS believes it has now been resumed.
Smith Jr. has run out of opportunities in the NBA, despite trying to re-engage through the G League, although he is still only 27 years old.
He played for the Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons, Portland Trail Blazers, Charlotte Hornets, and Brooklyn Nets in the NBA, amassing 326 regular season appearances, averaging 6.6 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.9 rebounds per game.
The Mavs selected him as the ninth overall draft pick in 2017, and he was part of the NBA All-Rookie Second Team a year later. There were great expectations for him, but now Dennis Smith Jr. seems to be on his way to Europe.
