Coach Ergin Ataman tried to put an end to the talks about referees which started with his reaction after Panathinaikos’ defeat in Barcelona.
With Panathinaikos practicing in Baskonia, Ataman was asked to comment on the statement of Pablo Laso concerning Mehdi Difallah.
“Laso is very experienced, much more experienced than other colleagues who comment on my statements“, said Ataman and added: “I expect respect from other coaches. Everyone can have their own opinion, but I never speak about other coaches and what they say. I will never speak about what Laso says. This is his opinion. I respect him, he is one of the most experienced in the league and he is also a very good friend of mine”.
Asked once more to comment the game on Barcelona, Ataman also wanted to turn the page: “I never think about the past, always thinking what’s in front of me… We have lost some games this year, also on ther gyms, but last nigh was strange in the second half. I reacted only on this. It’s a basketball game, Barcelona is a good team, a final four contender. There are two results in the games, win or defeat. We lost yesterday, we will try to win tomorrow”.
