Konstantinos Mitoglou will miss Round 22 of the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season and the visit of Panathinaikos Aktor to Baskonia in Fernando Buesa Arena on Friday.
A few hours before tipoff, the Greens ruled out the 28-year-old Greek forward/center due to an illness.
Making his way to 20 games of the ongoing continental campaign, he averaged 4.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 0.4 steals, per contest, including two points, three rebounds, and one assist over 12 minutes in a losing effort against FC Barcelona in Palau Blaugrana on top of the double-game week. In Greece’s Stoiximan GBL Regular Season, he is up to 8.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game through 14 appearances.
Besides a late scratch in the form of Mitoglou, Mathias Lessort (leg surgery), Marius Grigonis (back surgery), and Kostas Antetokounmpo remain sidelined for the team coached by Ergin Ataman. The remaining players are healthy and available for the game opposite Baskonia.
The defending champions hope to improve to 14-8 in EuroLeague’s Regular Season. They currently trail archrival and leader Olympiacos by 2.5 games, placed in a three-way tie in third place with AS Monaco and Paris amid a crowded race for the top six spots leading directly to the 2025 Playoffs.
On the opposite end, the Vitoria-Gasteiz outfit at 8-13 is 2.5 games away from the Play-In Showdown zone. Tadas Sedekerskis (thigh) is the only unavailable player for head coach Pablo Laso since Markus Howard (knee) is set to return to action.
