Good news for FC Bayern Munich regarding Vladimir Lucic.

The 36-year-old Serbian combo forward is expected to return to action against Bamberg Baskets in BMW Park on Sunday, after sitting out Round 23 of the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season and a clash with easyCredit BBL rival ALBA Berlin in Uber Arena on Friday.

Lucic has been dealing with a calf injury but rejoined team practices last week, launching the final part of a long recovery process. Starting the ongoing campaign, his 12th in the EuroLeague, he tallied 5.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.0 steals, and 1.0 assists per contest over two appearances, both starts for Gordon Herbert’s side. In the domestic league, he averaged 10.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game over three appearances, before being placed on the injury list in October.

The experienced forward has been a member of Bayern since 2016 and team captain since 2022. His experience with the team based in Munich includes winning the BBL championship in 2018, 2019, and 2024, and the BBL-Pokal in 2018, 2021, 2023, and 2024. In the 2020-21 edition of the German Cup, he stood out as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

In Europe’s premier club continental competition, he carries the experience of 201 appearances, including 157 with Bayern.

In addition, he represented Serbia in several major international tournaments between junior and senior levels, from 2009 to 2022, including capturing a silver medal in the 2017 EuroBasket.
