Bruno Fernando has signed a contract with Real Madrid until the end of the 2025-26 season, as reported by insider Carlos Sanchez Blas on Thursday.

On the heels of a report by Eurohoops regarding the 26-year-old forward/center heading to the storied club based in the Spanish capital, further confirmation is expected by Los Blancos announcing a new player for the team coached by Chus Mateo.

Following necessary physicals, Fernando will be officially added to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague roster, and also become eligible for the remaining games of the 2024-25 edition of Spain’s Liga Endesa and the approaching 2025 Copa del Rey.

The former Maryland standout is expanding his career to Europe, following 227 games played in the NBA between the Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets, Boston Celtics, and Toronto Raptors. Before being waived by the Raptors earlier in January, he piled up 3.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per contest playing for Serbian coach Darko Rajakovic in the 2024-25 Regular Season.

Besides making his way through college basketball and the NBA in North America, his career extends to representing Angola from junior tournaments in 2014 and 2016 to the senior level over the last few years, including the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

Joining forces with fellow recent signing Dennis Smith Jr., his remaining teammates are Alberto Abalde, Facundo Campazzo, Gabriel Deck, Andres Feliz, Usman Garuba, Hugo Gonzalez, Mario Hezonja, Serge Ibaka, Sergio Llull, Dzanan Musa, Eli Ndiaye, Xavier Rathan-Mayes, and Walter Tavares.
