Evan Fournier was Olympiacos’ leading scorer with 21 points, however, he had just 4/11 two-pointers and 2/8 threes, and speaking after the game to NOVA TV, he admitted that he felt responsible for the result, the defeat by Fenerbahce which broke a seven-game winning streak for the Reds.

As Fournier said: “Our biggest problem was the offense. It was the biggest disappointment. We weren’t patient enough and we weren’t productive enough around the rim. I feel like I have a lot of responsibility because I took a lot of shots”.

Fournier simply has high standards for himself: “I didn’t play well enough, I didn’t make the right reads. I don’t know if it was a mental issue. Even though I was aggressive, I should have passed the ball more. I feel responsible for today’s defeat”.

Fournier also mentioned the absences of Shaq McKissic and Thomas Walkup: “Maybe those absences are also to blame for not having the energy we needed”.

On the other hand, the French star took his hat off for Fener: “Fenerbahçe played patiently, ran the court and that was a big problem for our defense. We fell into the trap and shot so many three-pointers, we didn’t have alternative ways to move the ball and were forced to take difficult, contested three-pointers”.
