Justin Holiday, a player with 680 regular season appearances and an NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors in 2015, will work with Virtus Segafredo Bologna.

The head coach of the Italian team, Duško Ivanović, confirmed the news and stated that a decision on the next steps will be made in the coming days.

Today, a new player, Justin Holiday, will arrive in Bologna. By mutual agreement, we will work together over the next few days and see what to do,” Ivanović said ahead of the Legabasket match against Banco di Sardegna Sassari.

Interestingly, this won’t be Holiday’s first European experience, as he started his professional career in Belgium 14 years ago after going undrafted in the 2011 NBA Draft. He played for Okapi Aalstar and later spent the 2013/14 season in Hungary with Szolnoki Olaj.

After that, he joined the Golden State Warriors and won an NBA championship, before playing for the Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Memphis Grizzlies, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, Dallas Mavericks, and most recently, the Denver Nuggets alongside Nikola Jokić last season.

In his 680 regular season appearances, Holiday has averaged eight points, 2.7 assists, and 1.4 rebounds per game.

According to Ivanović, the coming days will determine whether Justin Holiday will sign a contract with Virtus Bologna to play in Legabasket and the EuroLeague.
