Recovering from an injury setback, Keenan Evans is set to return to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague

Olympiacos officially registered Keenan Evans to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague squad, making him eligible for the remaining games of the 2024-25 campaign.

A return date remains unclear. Based on earlier projections about potentially playing for the team coached by Giorgos Bartzokas in February, the 28-year-old combo guard is expected to be cleared sooner rather than later.

The Texas native, a former player of Texas Tech through his college days, underwent knee surgery last May. The latest setback forced a premature end to the 2023-24 journey with Zalgiris, a few months before signing a three-year contract with the storied Greek club. The Reds completed the deal in July, despite the player being set for another long spell on the injury list.

The two-year stint with Zalgiris was marked by unfortunate injuries. Before suffering a patellar tendon rupture late in the 2023-24 season, midway through the 2022-23 campaign he was ruled out for the rest of the season with a torn Achilles tendon.

Besides Evans, several more Olympiacos players are currently dealing with injuries, including Moses Wright sitting out the remainder of the season. Additional issues stretch to Thomas Walkup missing recent games in the Regular Season of the EuroLeague and Greece’s Stoiximan GBL due to a back issue. In Round 16 of the GBL on Sunday, Sasha Vezenkov and Luca Vildoza were out due to patellar tendinitis and an abdominal injury, respectively, and Moustapha Fall stayed on the bench as a precaution amid a minor finger injury.
