Former NBA champion Justin Holiday signed a three-month contract with EuroLeague team Virtus Bologna in Italy, the club announced. The deal included a club option to renew the player until the end of the 2024-25 season.

“I am happy to become part of this team, this club and this city,” Holiday said, per Virtus. “I can’t wait to start playing for the Virtus fans and win with them.”

After undergoing the necessary medical examinations and having his first practices with the team, Holiday will be leaving for the USA and then return to Bologna.

Holiday was a free agent after spending the 2023-24 season with Denver Nuggets. He played 703 games in the NBA through 11 seasons and he won the championship in 2015 as a member of the Golden State Warriors.

An NBA journeyman, Holiday also had stints with Philadelphia 76ers, the Atlanta Hawks, the Chicago Bulls, the New York Knicks, Memphis Grizzlies, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, Dallas Mavericks apart from the Warriors and the Nuggets.

This isn’t the first time Holiday will play in Europe since he began his career with Belgian club Okapi Aalstar in 2011. He also had a run with Szolnoki Olajbányász in Hungary in 2014.
