Another double week on the road and two more wins for Partizan in the EuroLeague. After taking down ASVEL and Olimpia Milano away from home, Zeljko Obradovic‘s side defeated Virtus Bologna and Monaco on the opposition’s court.
One of the key Partizan pieces, Carlik Jones, spoke to Serbian media after the win over Monaco, which put the Belgrade team at 14-12 in the EuroLeague standings.
“Much-needed win for us, our second double week on the road, and we were able to get the win. Incredible effort from all of us, defensively and offensively. The whole team played very well, and it was a great win,” Jones said.
Partizan is 7-6 at home and 7-6 on the road, with eight rounds to go in the Regular Season.
“At the beginning of the season, we lost some road games, and it’s good we finally locked in. We are meshing well right now. You can’t be a playoff or a championship team without winning on the road.”
He also spoke about how the team rose throughout the year, as they are now in a solid position to make it to the postseason.
“As long as we approach the game with the right mentality and just be ourselves, we are one of the best teams in the world. In the world, yes, I said that. The start of the year was rough for us. We were learning about each other, trying to figure things out, but now in the second half of the season, we are getting it and showing how good we really are. I’m just glad we are finally putting it all together,” Carlik Jones concluded.
