Goran Sasic, the executive director of the EuroLeague Head Coaches Board, recently discussed the possibility of Russian teams making a comeback in the EuroLeague next season. He highlighted that both CSKA Moscow and Zenit could rejoin the top continental competition.
Theodoros Papaloukas weighed in on the matter, acknowledging the possibility of his former team returning to the EuroLeague.
“Initially, we need to see the situation that would allow it. Who wouldn’t want to see CSKA return to the EuroLeague?” he told Relevo.
He added that it would be beneficial for historically significant teams like CSKA to re-enter the competition.
“CSKA is one of the shareholders of the EuroLeague, but also one of the best teams in the history of the competition. So, it would be good for teams like CSKA to return to the EuroLeague,” Papaloukas concluded.
