Former Maccabi Tel Aviv player returns to EuroLeague with Olympiacos

Olympiacos Piraeus made a push at the finish line of the EuroLeague transfer deadline for Saben Lee—and made it just in time.

Lee will reinforce Georgios Bartzokas’ team before the crucial part of the season, giving the Greek coach another valuable option in the backcourt.

Olympiacos recently lost Thomas Walkup for a couple of weeks due to injury, while Keenan Evans is still not ready to help the team as he continues recovering from last season’s knee injury.

As a result, Olympiacos had a pressing need to strengthen its backcourt. The club went all-in for Lee and managed to register him just in time.

The former Phoenix Suns guard started the season with Manisa and, after a few spectacular performances in the Basketball Champions League, took his talents to Maccabi Tel Aviv, making his EuroLeague debut.

However, after just eight appearances and averaging 12 points per game, Lee left Tel Aviv to rejoin Manisa. He continued to shine in the BCL, where he is the league’s leading scorer with 24.8 points per game. In 12 Turkish BSL appearances, the 25-year-old guard has contributed 18.7 points and six assists per match.
