EA7 Emporio Armani Milan updated the injury status of Freddie Gillespie following his early exit from the Round 28 fixture of the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season against Fenerbahce Beko in Unipol Forum on Thursday.
The 27-year-old center spent the night at a nearby hospital and was discharged on Friday morning, the Italian club announced.
Per the press release: “Freddie Gillespie, following the head trauma reported during the third quarter of the EuroLeague game played against Fenerbahce Istanbul, was taken to the hospital for tests and kept under observation as a precaution last night. The player was discharged this morning without evidence of complications but will have to observe a period of rest during which his conditions will be monitored by the club’s medical staff.”
Gillespie exited the game opposite Fener after four minutes of action, before generating a stat. Overall, in the 2024-25 edition of Europe’s premier club continental competition, he has averaged 3.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per contest over 16 appearances, including being featured in the starting lineup of Ettore Messina on eight occasions.
Nikola Mirotic also picked up an injury on Thursday, following the decision to rule out Armoni Brooks for the EuroLeague contest due to illness. In addition, Josh Nebo remained sidelined due to an injury in his right arm.
With six games left in the Regular Season, Scarpette Rosse ranks ninth, sitting inside the Play-In Showdown zone at 15-13. The distance from a direct berth in the 2025 Playoffs and elimination is one game.
