He emerged as one of the key Zalgiris players throughout the season, playing some of his best basketball in the Kaunas team jersey. As a result, Zalgiris recognized his importance and decided to extend his stay in Lithuania.
As officially announced, Sylvain Francisco signed a contract extension with the team, keeping him at Zalgirio Arena through the 2026/27 season, with a clause allowing him to leave in the summer of 2026 for a buyout.
In the EuroLeague, Francisco is the most productive player for Zalgiris, averaging 14.4 points, 4.3 assists, and a PIR of 15.3 per game.
“We’re pleased to extend our collaboration with Sylvain. Last summer, we signed him under a 1+1 contract, which would have allowed him to leave after the season for a buyout. Given the market situation, we decided to renew the contract and remove this condition. We’re satisfied with his performance both on and off the court and believe he can help us achieve our highest goals in Lithuania and the EuroLeague,” said Zalgiris’ sports director, Gediminas Navickas. “It’s worth mentioning that Francisco, who’s had a solid season in the EuroLeague, attracted a lot of interest in the market. We’re happy that he trusted our process and effort. He feels good at Zalgiris and can continue to grow as a player here.”
In the Betsafe-LKL championship, Francisco averages 12.5 points, 5.3 assists, and a PIR of 17.3 per game.
