Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet’s center, Joel Bolomboy, was injured in the final moments of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Round 29 game against Olimpia Milano.

Coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos initially feared that the 31-year-old center had suffered a serious injury, and the latest MRI results have now confirmed how long one of Crvena Zvezda’s key players will be sidelined.

According to the official report from the Serbian club, Bolomboy “has suffered a moderate-to-severe foot sprain with no signs of a fracture, requiring a recovery period of 3 to 6 weeks, depending on the speed of his rehabilitation.

This is certainly a big blow for the Belgrade team, as Bolomboy is set to miss four to all five of the final regular season games in the EuroLeague.

Crvena Zvezda also provided updates on the status of Luka Mitrović and Mike Daum.

Due to recurring issues following treatment in Germany, an arthroscopy has been indicated for Luka Mitrović. The length of his absence will be determined after the procedure.

The treatment and rehabilitation of Mike Daum have been completed. He has resumed sporting activities, and his return to the court now depends solely on his physical readiness,” Serbian club announced.

Crvena Zvezda is 16-12 in the EuroLeague standings, after three straight defeats to Zalgiris, Bayern Munich and Olimpia Milano after the break.
