Over the course of the 2024-25 EuroLeague Regular Season, Shane Larkin has been struggling with finding consistency, dealing at the same time with several injuries that have often ruled him out.
In the EuroLeague Round 29 against Bayern Munich, however, it looked like Anadolu Efes‘ captain was displaying a version of himself from back in the day: he put up 25 points (8/14 from the field, and 5/5 at the line), 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals, collecting a competition-high performance of 33 PIR.
Therefore, the American guard was named MVP of the Round for the first time this season, overcoming the performance of Kevin Punter (29 PIR) in Barcelona’s win over his former team Partizan.

“We are basically in playoff mode right now. We know that we have to pretty much win every single game to consider ourselves a team that can get into the playoffs. So we are approaching every single game with the same mentality, and we know it’s win or lose,” Larkin said after beating Bayern.
Following this Regular Season Round, Shane Larkin has now extended his collection of awards regarding MVPs of the Round, on top of the list at 18, followed by Nando De Colo (16) and Sasha Vezenkov (14).
For the second time this season, an Anadolu Efes player was named MVP of the Round in the EuroLeague. The first time occurred last week, as Vincent Poirier was named co-MVP of Round 28 alongside Bayern Munich’s Carsen Edwards.
