The 26-year-old Olympiacos center Moses Wright last played on November 21, 2024, in a win over Baskonia. Now, 124 days later, he is ready to step back into action.
Having fully recovered from his health issue, Wright has traveled with the team to Lyon, where Olympiacos will face LDLC ASVEL in Round 31 of the EuroLeague.
“I feel great to be back. It was a long process. I was eager to return, but I had to be patient and let things take their course. I’m happy to finally play again.”
He never doubted he would make it back.
“There was never a question of not playing again. The first thing doctors told me was that I would be back, and they kept reassuring me. The initial estimate was around six months, so I feel blessed to be here now.”
His teammates’ support made a big difference during his recovery.
“Everyone came to visit me while I was in the hospital, and that helped me a lot mentally because it was a tough time. We’re a family on and off the court, and we truly care for each other.”
With Nikola Milutinov sidelined for two weeks, Wright is ready to contribute.
“I’ll focus on the little things to make an impact. Coach told me I’ll play, so I need to start with the basics—rebounding, playing hard—and the rhythm will come. I’m 110% ready.”
