Thanks to their away win over Olympiacos Piraeus, AS Monaco climbed to 20 – 12, securing a higher finish than Paris Basketball in the standings with two rounds left in the regular season. This has automatically clinched a 2025-26 EuroLeague spot for the Monegasque club that keeps one of the two EuroLeague licenses given to former EuroCup champions.
Since the second EuroCup spot for next season will go to the 2024-25 champion, Paris needs a wildcard to particate in the 2025-26 EuroLeague.
Paris has been making an ongoing effort to sign a longterm contract with the EuroLeague. The French club initially asked for a three-year license from the organization but their request was denied since the league couldn’t change its bylaws.
Following a big road win over reigning champion Panathinaikos Athens, Paris is now 18-14 and tied with Anadolu Efes, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Crvena Zveda for sixth in the standings.
