Shawn James talked about Maccabi Tel Aviv and the time he spent on Olympiacos, not hiding his disappointment on the fact that he spent few minutes on court while playing for the Greek club.
The American center, who is currently in Israel for vacations, was interviewed by sport5.co.il where, among other things, he talked about his previous 2 seasons.
“I never understood why I didn’t get the opportunity to play in Olimpia Armani Milano, even though i had completely recovered from my back problem. It was annoying. I went to Bilbao in order to show that I am healthy and I can play. Olympiacos gave me an opportunity but I am a player and I went there to play”, James mentioned.
And what about returning to Maccabi Tel Aviv? “I never liked the fact that i left Maccabi. I was injured so I left. I feel Israel as my second home and Maccabi as a family. Everyone says to me “sign for Maccabi” but it’s not that simple and it doesn’t work that way. I don’t know what will happen and I didn’t come to Israel for this. Then again I didn’t return to USA so if an opportunity arrives I want to be near it”
