Omer Yurtseven wants to play in the NCAA next season, Duke among others are interested for his services and as DraftExpress reports, he can be considered eligible for the NCAA, because he didn’t want to be paid by Fenerbahce!
According to the post, Yurtseven didn’t want to be paid by Fenerbahce: “It is correct that they put money into an account that they opened up in my name, but I didn’t want it or ask for it”. Yurtseven denied that he had signed any type of contract with the club, according to his the club opened a bank account in his name and he never touched the money in the account.
What’s really strange however is that according to DraftExpress “NCAA schools who are recruiting him do not seem overly concerned by these allegations made by his head coach, and told us they will continue to do so, speculating the club may have had an inkling that he will elect to go to college, and that they were hoping this account they opened would prevent him from doing so”. However, things are different according to coach Zeljko Obradovic.
