The CEO of Euroleague Jordi Bertomeu gave a joint press conference in Moscow, along with CSKA Moscow president Andrey Vatutin, before the game between CSKA and Khimki for the second leg of the competition’s Top 16.
Among other things, Bertomeu once again emphasized on the focus that Euroleague gives on protecting the interests, rights and freedom of choice that European basketball clubs possess. He specifically mentioned that “there is no war between us and FIBA. We are not fighting, we are focused on our League”, while also revealing that there will be 24 teams in Eurocup during the next season. However, Bertomeu added: “FIBA announced a Champions League with no champs”.
