The game between Panathinaikos and Fenerbahce was special in any way imaginable. Zelico Obradovic returned to OAKA once more, and the “Greens” got a great victory which, at the same time, can even be described as historical.
Why is that? With the win versus Fenerbahce, Panathinaikos became the first Greek team that reached 400 victories in international European competitions. The journey of the club began on 16th November 1967 when the… “first timers”, back then, Panathinaikos won Steaua Bucharest 61 – 42. 48 years later, the journey of the club continues.
Most of these 400 victories have come in Euroleague and the European Champions’ Cup (352 wins), while there are also some wins in the European Cup winners’ Cup (35) or Korac Cup (13). The winning percentage of Panathinaikos is 62% since the Greeks has won 400 games in 642 matches against 107 different teams.
Take a look at the historical score-sheet from Panathinaikos’ first international game ever.
