Jonas Valanciunas played just three minutes in Zalgiris‘ friendly match against Sabah before leaving with an injury to his right foot.
The Lithuanian center remained on the bench for the entire 1st half without wearing the sneakers on the foot that bothered him; however, when Zalgiris retired to the locker room for the break and returned for the 2nd half, he was left behind.
After the game, coach Tomas Maciulis said to the press that in theory Valanciunas could have played more, but he was protected. The initial diagnosis is just a bone bruise, but further tests will be done.
In the competitive part, Zalgiris had no difficulty prevailing with 112-78, with Edgaras Ulanovas scoring 18 points and Marek Blazevic 17.
