The journey of Brancou Badio from his hometown, Rufisque, to Athens is a long one. Filled with sacrifices. Separations. Uncertainty. To all this, you can add perseverance. And endless work. It’s not easy to earn his own jersey at Panathinaikos with the number “7” and his (first) name on the back: Brancou!
The path also had many smiles. Wide ones. The new guard of the “shamrock” has learned differently. He has been nurtured by his childhood hero, Kobe Bryant. He grew up in a large family. But after the age of 10, the figure that would shape his life was absent.
His sisters and brothers took on the role of the father. And throughout his life, the Senegalese found other brothers. One of them remains Jean Montero, even if he wore the jersey of the “eternal” rival, as he confessed in the big interview he gave to Eurohoops.
Masterpiece Željko and the meal with his mother
Although sparse with words, what he said had his own significance. From masterpiece coach Željko (Obradović), to the journey of Valencia and the belief that if the Spanish squad remained stable, it would be even better next season.
And from there, to the simplicity of a meal with his mother, but also the importance of time with his family, having grown up without a father.
