The Euroleague’s CSR program “One Team” – Basketball is Everywhere, where Panathinaikos participates, continued today in the Juvenile Detention at Corinthos.

All the players and the CEO of Panathinaikos, Panagiotis Triantopoulos, visited Corinthos, played basketball with the inmates (aged 15-18) and above everything else they tried to inspire the ideal of cooperation and teamwork. The young inmates participated willingly in the program and renewed the appointment with the team for next week.

Through its own program “Basketball is everywhere”, Panathinaikos rewards social sensitivity, the value of cooperation and supports multifaceted social messages.

James Gist: “It’s nice for the children who come here. It is a great experience for all of us. We had nice with children. Our basketball has given a lot and it is our duty to do these actions to return something”.

Radulijca

Miroslav Raduljica: “It is a great experience for us. We want to help the kids to spend wonderful moments and to help them think about what they can do in their lives when they come here. Everyone deserves a second chance, no one should be judged so strictly. As players we are fortunate to play basketball when we are off the field and we have contact with these children we can see that is the reality and what is happening around us. And we have much to learn from children.”

Nick Calathes: “It is very satisfying for everyone to be here. Both children, and we have the opportunity to smile. Our visits provide an opportunity to see what is happening off the field.”

Anthonis Tsourekis (Director of the Detention Juvenile): “We would like to thank Panathinaikos who visited us, colleagues who helped to carry out the visit with any certainty, but the Ministry of Justice which gave permission to make these actions. Our goal is to become the smooth reintegration of these children. The program started last year and continues this year. Children are always anxious before coming players here and there is very great interest.”
