The most well-attended event at Final Four weekend is always the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Fan Zone and that will be no different this year in Berlin. From Friday, May 13 through Sunday, May 15, hundreds of thousands of fans are expected to celebrate European basketball’s signature event by attending three days’ worth of special Fan Zone activities in the German capital’s signature city square, Alexanderplatz!
The crowd-pleasing Fan Zone will have more displays, entertainment, contests and basketball than ever before, creating the ultimate hoops experience for Euroleague fans and fun-loving locals thanks to the contributions of partners such as Turkish Airlines, adidas, Dogus Group, Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Spalding, EFES, EA7 Emporio Armani and ALBA Berlin.
Under the watchful eye of the 368-meter television tower – the tallest man-made structure in Germany – and alongside the famous world clock, which shows the time of dozens of cities across the globe, Alexanderplatz will welcome fans from far and wide for the Fan Zone, which will be built around a covered basketball court at the center of the festivities.
The Fan Zone will host ongoing activities from 10:00 through 22:00 local time on all three days of Final Four weekend. At any given time, the Fan Zone will be rocking with three-on-three tournaments, one-on-one games, slam dunk contests, three-point shootouts, games featuring sports stars and celebrities, charity events, skills competitions, cheerleaders, dancers, DJs, music and much, much more.
Among the many highlights will be the Turkish Airlines Slam Dunk contest on Saturday, May 14 at 18:00 on the main court, which will be followed at 19:00 by the adidas streetball night tournament where the best streetballers of Europe will compete in a magnificent setup with VGs, DJs and famous MCs.
Among the many attractions Fan Zone can look forward to are the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Experience Area, where fans can take part in various games and win prizes; the Efes Entertainment area and beer gardens, where fans can not only sample food and beverages, but meet, take photos with and enjoy regular performances by the official cheerleaders of the Final Four; the Home Turkey Just Hoops area, with exhibitions teaching the secrets of shooting by pros; the EA7 Emporio Armani area, with a series of different skill games; the Dogus Stay in the Game area with lots of interactive activities for kids; Euroleague merchandizing spots, social media activities plus a full array of attractions from local basketball powerhouse ALBA Berlin such as player visits and autograph sessions, performances by the award-winning ALBA Dancers, the beloved mascot and a basketball course where everyone can test their skills.
