Giannis Bourousis lost the chance to win the Euroleague in Berlin back in 2009 and now his teammate, Darius Adams, want to give him an other chance at the trophy.
As the American guard said: “We had to win and not play another game here. I was on fire and had 14 points in the last quarter but I have to thank my teammates who helped me and kept believing to me. I have missed some shots but they created space and continued to give me the ball and encourage me to shoot. The whole team deserves the credit and the congratulations for this success. Now we have to work hard and be ready to play the Final Four in Berlin. One game at a time is is the key point. The only thing we can promise is that we will give our best there. Ioannis Bourousis is an amazing player and our leader inside and outside the court. Hopefully we will give him the chance to make it to the championship game he didn’t play in 2009 in Berlin”.
Coach Velimir Perasovic also spoke about Bourousis, who is the catalyst of his team’s run: “I think we played a great game today, like all season, and my players are the best. Bourousis is the key of our game. Always when he’s on the court, we look to him and he creates like a point guard. For me, he’s a great guy and he had a great season also this year”.
