As it announced on Saturday night, FIBA invited Euroleague to a meeting in Mies, Switzerland. In the “House of basketball”, FIBA headquarters, the two sides are expected to talk about a possible end in their fight.
The invitation is already received by Euroleague and the date of the meeting is expected to be sheduled in the next days. As Dejan Bodiroga recently said, there’s an offer to be made by FIBA, but the details are still unkown.
According to the Italian newspaper “Tuttosport”, FIBA wants to be part of the Euroleague Commercial Assets in order to give to Euroleague the right to organize its two competitions for the next five years. According to other sources, a merge between Eurocup and Basketball Champions League may be possible. However at this point FIBA doesn’t open its cards and the meeting is expected to be more than interesting.
