Andrey Vorontsevich has seen all the ups and downs of CSKA and that’s way getting to the final made him smile.
As he said: “We played hard, we tried to support each other. We were a real team, because everyone wanted to be in the final game. I’d like to thank our fans. Now we’re preparing for the next step”.
Vorontsevich congratulated Lokomotiv for the great season and a good semifinal game: “This is the first time in the history of Euroleague that two Russian teams are playing each other at this stage. Two Russian teams in Euroleague Final Four! it’s great success for Russian basketball. For Lokomotiv it’s the first experience. I’d say congrats to them for this great season and hope they’ll win the next game. We need to think about the next game and get ready for big final”.
The Russian forward doesn’t think yet about their future opponent: “We’ll see who will be our opponent. We need to prepare ourselves, forget about today’s game vs Loko, get a bit rest, recover our mindset, watch the tape. I guess we’ll watch second semifinal in the hotel today. But I think, at first we need to stay together. That’s what we need the most”.
Vorontsevich hopes that CSKA can break their bad Final Four tradition and finally get the title: “Of course, this can be our winning season. The team is here, in the Final Four, and now we have great chance. For CSKA, it had been a long way hunting the title since the 2008 win. Every year we come to the Final Four but something happens and we can’t win. Now we have excellent chances to win it all. It’s our main goal”.
