Panathinaikos officially announced the extension of the contract with Argiris Pedoulakis. The Greens put the trust in the Greek coach who remains at the helm of the team.

Despite the very advanced talks with Pini Gherson, Panathinaikos decided to give its support to Argiris Pedoulakis after his meeting today with Dimitris Giannakopoulos. In a press release that included just 14 words, the Greens confirmed that Greek coach Argiris Pedoulakis’ contract was extended and the deal with Gherson will not be completed.

Pedoulakis tried to turn things around in the Greens, after the firing of coach Djordjevic, he started the Greek league finals with a break, however he couldn’t save the season of Panathinaikos. Still he activated the Greek players of the roster, namely Nikos Pappas, Vasilis Charalampopoulos and Giannis Papagiannis, he changed the image of the team and gave a fight against Olympiacos.

“Now that Dimitris Diamantidis has left, the next season wont only be a turn of the page, but a new book”, said Argiris Pedoulakis in the team’s official website after the announcement of his extension. “Along with the fans and the Giannakopoulos family, he has been one of the three pillars of Panathinaikos”.
