German champs Brose Baskets signed 18 years old forward Louis Olinde (2.05 m.). A member of the junior national teams of Germany, Olinde signed a contract for the next four seasons.
Olinde is expected to play both in the B-team of Brose Baskets and in the first team, if he is called. As he said: “This summer is a very special for me. I’m currently finishing my high school and I want to concentrate after that fully on my basket development. I looked at some other situations in Germany and made a decision. In Bamberg they offer me the best conditions in order to take the next step and realize my dreams. I want to thank all who were involved in this decision-making process and have supported me. I especially want to thank my coaches and supporters from Hamburg, who taught me how to play basketball and offered me many opportunities to develop myself. Thanks also to those responsible for the Brose Baskets for this opportunity. Now I look forward to the European Championships with the U18 and then on my first season with the Young Pikes (ed.note: The B-team of Brose Baskets)”.
Olinde’s father, Wilbert Olinde, won with UCLA the NCAA championship title in 1975.
