Giorgos Bartzokas is leaving Lokomotiv Kuban which be compensated with a 500.000 euros buy out, however the timing of this move is not ideal for the Russian club, according to club sources.
Lokomotiv had already improved the financial conditions of coach Bartzokas’ contract for next season and they had started building their roster according to his suggestions. Players were released, newcomers are already signed and everything changed when Barcelona couldn’t sign Sarunas Jasikevicius and made an offer to Bartzokas.
The Greek coach made it obvious to the club that he wanted to leave Krasnodar, despite the fact that his contract didn’t include an opt out option. Considering this situation, the club decided that it would be better for the two sides to part ways and at least get a financial compensation for letting him go.
