Lokomotiv’s president Andrey Vedischev spoke about the decision of coach Bartzokas to leave Russia for Barcelona. The Krasnodar club didn’t expected at this point of the season to lose its coach and Vedischev explained the whole situation.
As he said in the website of the club: “With Bartzokas we have achieved the first participation in the history of the club in the Euroleague Final Four and I think it’s not going to be the last. In professional sports, winning is not only about individual players or the coaches, but also about the organization, which is why we have entered into the three of the strongest teams in Europe. A month ago, we agreed that Bartsokas would remain in Krasnodar, but when Barcelona made him an offer, he said that working in this club was his life-dream. Well, perhaps, Krasnodar is not Barcelona, but as an organization, “Loco” is not inferior to “Barca”. Hopefully, in a year we will once again demonstrate that, when we meet with Bartzokas and Barcelona in the Euroleague”.
