Panathinaikos needs a guard as soon as possible after the Mike James injury and veteran Omar Cook is one of their main targets.
The Greens already made an offer to the player and his club, Estudiantes, in order to buy him out. The initial answer to the offer by the Spanish club was negative. With the season already started and a short rotation, Estudiantes is not ready to let its starting point guard go.
On the other hand, the Spanish club may just be trying to get a better buy out, since money is an issue for them and most importantly Cook’s side so far has not notified anyone about the wish of the player. The interest of Panathinaikos for Cook was first reported by Greek website SDNA.
