The home defeat of Maccabi Tel Aviv by Crvena Zvezda left mainly hope and not real chances for the Israelis in order to get to the playoffs and the frustration of the team was obvious also in their quotes after the game.
As coach Ainars Bagatskis said, when his team was down by three and needed to spot the clock: “I was screaming for players to commit a foul, I asked and even begged. I’m sure my players would do the things I wanted to, but maybe I did not shout loud enough. We had some good opportunities, but we missed them. That’s a fact, we scored only 67 points at home.
